Craft Weather Jack is a representative of three-layer membranes. In practice, this means that the membrane itself is protected by the lining from the underside and has a very high protection against obstruction. In addition, Craft did not bind to a third-party solution, Gore Wind stopper, but has successfully used its own Vent Air membrane for several years. The three-layer design, however, signifies a lower breathability, which are only 10,000 g / m2 / 24h in the case of Weather.
Paper breathability is far from reaching the extreme values that Vega can boast, but in the case of Craft, the situation improves the bruises on the chest, shoulders and back. Thanks to them, the reflective jacket breathes very well, and even though Vega is always on top of it, the resulting breathability of Weather is quite decent.
Worse is also the collapsibility, because the used three-layer material has a slightly higher volume and weight. Instead of a spare piece of clothing, Weather is more of a jacket that you will be wearing throughout the movement.
Water protection
Craft Weather, however, strongly leads to damp proofing. A water column of 15,000 millimeters is a parameter that should be comfortable in the run even in very bad weather. The jacket is also not lost even when used at higher altitudes where the weather can be very treacherous. Another interesting feature is the flexibility of the material used. With this we rarely encounter the membranes, but this venture jacket has a very nice athletic cut, which should easily fit most types of characters. Important details include countless reflective material, an adjustable hood or a small pocket hidden in the side seam.
Overall rating
Thanks to its parameters, the Craft Weather Jacket is made for winter jogging, when it is cold, it can rain and during which you will not want to solve the changeover. For year-round use it is a bit less, but it can be found in other winter sports such as ski alas or cross-country skiing. The most important functional properties are solid breathability, reliable protection against dandruff and puffiness and, last but not least, elastic reflective design that will not prevent natural movement.
