Any more serious traffic accident brings several obligations that we have to do if we are able to do so. We have all been taught in a driving school, but it does not hurt to remind us what the law and rescue teams require of us if we are participants or witnesses of a traffic accident. The next seven steps are crucial, including their ranking.
1) Find yourself at the scene of an accident
Immediately after something so unexpected happens, it is important to perceive the surrounding area. Keep calm and do not panic. Navigate in the area you are in. Take a quick look around to review the overall situation.
Find out if you are able to move and leave the space (vehicle). Find the place to leave the vehicle. Do not forget to wear a reflective vest, which you should always have with a pharmacies and a warning triangle on your hands.
2) Avoid chaining an accident
It is important to evaluate the risk of accident and damage chaining. If the engine is running and the ignition key is in range, switch it off. If you do not feel leaking, switch on the warning lights. Otherwise, a short circuit may occur. As soon as possible, mark the place of a traffic accident. Place the warning triangle, turn on the warning lights.
At least the first car to arrive at the accident must be brought to the attention in good time, even by waving a flagship, or by any other easy-to-see, if the accident happened in an unclear section.
3) Help others in safety
Find out the status of people who were traveling with you in the vehicle. Make sure they are aware whether they are communicating, assessing the condition of their injuries and whether they are able to move. Talk to them to try to calm them down.
Help others who are able to leave the vehicle, and if you have more high visibility vests, dress them up. Move all persons out of the risk area to a reasonable distance in the opposite direction of driving from the crashed vehicle. Of course out of the road, preferably behind the barriers. Take advantage of your organizational skills to help locate the accident and help the injured. If possible, ask the other injured or slightly injured to help you divide the tasks.
