The Directorate General has approved a game of 480,000 Euros for the garments that agents will use this summer. The Ministry of the Interior will allocate 479,160 Euros for the purchase of short-sleeved polo shirts for the patrols of the Traffic Association of the Civil Guard. The yellow and green colors will predominate in the new body garments; they will have three reflective bands and an identifying oval.
According to El Confidential Digital, these characteristics must be met by the reflective short-sleeved polo shirts acquired by Interior for the agents of the Civil Guard of Traffic:
- These are garments made of 100% polyester fabric.
- The front and rear parts of the pole shall have a single piece of yellow in high visibility.
- The collar will be of the shirt type and formed by two pieces of main fabric in green and interlining. It will have a height of 75 mm.
- Each pole will have three reflective tapes: there will be two vertical strips symmetrical with respect to the gate and one horizontal throughout the contour. Each one will have a width of 50 mm.
- The garments will also contain two pockets on the vertical ribbons. Each one will have a width of 50 mm and a height of 125.
- In relation to the emblems and the legend of the back, on the left front pocket there will be a piece of Velcro yellow fluorine 50 mm high by 120 wide.
The right part of the chest will carry the oval of the Traffic Grouping in type of transfer letter and with gray reflecting background of 65 by 50 mm.
The left sleeve will have the national flag, which should measure 55 mm wide by 25 high. On the back, there will be a thermoses module with the legend "Traffic Civil Guard" at three heights. As it was told in these pages, it was not until 2012 when the zone chiefs of the Civil Guard allowed their agents to serve with the summer uniform, that is, with the short sleeve polo. That year, due to the increase of the temperatures in some points of Spain, several cash had to be taken care of by the medical services. The extreme case occurred in Leper (Huelva), where an agent suffered a faint while driving the official vehicle. The car ended up colliding with another car.
Therefore, the Civil Guard ended that prohibition and shared on its official intranet a document entitled 'Work with high temperatures', which was signed by the Body Prevention Service. According to the text, the most dangerous of heat strokes is that "the symptoms are not noticed until we have run out of electrolytes (potassium, sodium, etc.)" and advised the agents to "wear light reflective clothing.”
