The awareness campaign "Cyclists, shine! "Takes place from Tuesday 6 to Friday 9 November in the Grenoble conurbation. His goal? To make cyclists aware of the need, as well as the legal obligation, to ride at night with lighting devices in order to limit the risk of accidents.
As days get shorter and cyclists are more likely to travel at night, the Association for Transit Development (ADTC) - Getting Around Participates in the National Awareness Campaign " Cyclist, shine! Objective: to make bicycle users aware of night lighting.
"Too many cyclists ride at night without a light and a reflective vest, often without realizing that they significantly increase the risk of an accident," writes ADTC.
"Active" elements such as the lights in the front and rear of his vehicle (mandatory), "passive" elements such as armbands, vests, helmets or reflective trousers which all made of reflective fabrics, accessories are not lacking.
Awareness actions in the field
Several awareness-raising actions are thus carried out in the field. In Saint-Martin this Tuesday, November 6th from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at the crossing Buchenwald, as well as at Fontaine and La Tronche on Wednesday 7 from 5 pm 30 to 19 hours at the end of the Drac bridge and on the Boulevard.
Grenoble is not outdone, with appointments on Thursday 8 from 17:30 to 19 hours, Place Pasteur and Avenue Berthelot, and Friday 9 in front of the Sports Palace from 18:30 to 19 hours. So many opportunities to distribute platelets, to distribute fluorescent armbands or vests offered by the Metro, as well as coupons to buy from bike dealers partners.
In addition to Grenoble, Operation Cyclist shine! is also supported by the prefecture of Isere, through its Departmental Road Safety Action Plan (PADSR). A partnership that will allow the presence of mobility advisers and departmental stakeholders for road safety (IDSR) during field actions.
