Road events involving pedestrians occur most often after tragic events. When they forget about using reflective materials and complying with the regulations, they create a huge danger for themselves. The police officers appeal to pedestrians to exercise special caution when traveling on roads, especially unlit ones.
Limited visibility caused by adverse weather conditions, faster darkness, rainfall or fog. Such conditions mean that pedestrians who do not use reflective elements are hardly visible to drivers. In addition, there are situations when unprotected road users wanting to shorten their path forget to comply with the basic rules. Among other things, such behaviors may lead to dangerous road events. This year, 193 accidents involving pedestrians occurred on the roads of the Province. 172 people were injured in them, while 25 pedestrians were killed due to the injuries suffered.
It should be remembered: outside the built-up area in places where there is no sidewalk or no pedestrian road, unprotected road users are legally obliged to use reflective elements or reflective clothing made by reflective fabric. Unfortunately, however, very often in built-up areas there are places where there is no lighting or it is insufficient. In such places, pedestrians are also invisible to the drivers.
The reflective vest should not be a reason to be ashamed, wearing it is a big step to improving road safety. Moving on the roads, take care of your own safety. Let's show each driver, let's give a visible example of how to care for their own safety.
