The local deputy of the National Regeneration Movement party, Corina Martínez García, presented an initiative to prohibit the transfer of children under five years of age by motorcycle.
For this, the legislator proposed addition to article 36 bis, of the Law of Communication and Transit Routes of the State of Hidalgo.
With the proposal, the drivers of scooters, motorcycles, trikes, and ATVs would be prohibited from accompanying or passengers of said vehicles being less than five years of age or, even having reached that age, they cannot hold on by their means or rest your feet on the passenger pedals.
The initiative exempts emergency medical transportation, "in which case the necessary accessories must be available to guarantee the adequate transfer of the minor, who must travel with some device or means that holds him firmly," he added.

It also states that these vehicles must "have the minimum necessary protective equipment and preferably with the additional equipment of elbow pads, knee pads, gloves, and a special reflective jacket or fluorescent vest".
The brunette pointed out that it is essential to legislating in favor of minors from Hidalgo since it is of great importance to help safeguard their safety and integrity in any type of motor vehicle in which they are transported since the risks are greater and can even be fatal.
