When the little rascals in Bucha wander into the forest, they have to be vigilant. In order to get to Pösen, they have to cross the ring road, on which many drivers like to drive faster than the permitted 70 kilometers per hour. Three to four kindergarten teachers take part in such a tour. "A colleague always has to shut off the street," says Kita director Sylvia Zeise, "the way is not without". In order for the children to be better respected by motorists, Parent Advisory Board Chairman Franziska Aulig thought of a simple but efficient garment: safety vests sew on reflective tapes.
At the German traffic guard Jena-Saale-Holland, she came up with the idea for open ears. So they got now 50 of this reflective vest, the summer, and winter to bring safety. "That's how a child falls quickly," says Annett Koch, chairwoman of the association, which has been based in Eisenberg since last year. 50 other west is also intended for traffic safety in Jena and in the district.
Curious, the Bucha children looked at the new things. On the back stands Ampelinchen, the mascot of the traffic guard, admonishing his forefinger. Although she obviously does not wear a safety vest with reflective material, she is with her red and white shut-off cone on the head, the traffic light in front of the chest and the stop sign cannot be overlooked.
The "real" Ampelinchen can be experienced on August 31st in Jena's Burgaupark when the Verkehrswacht informs about the beginning of the school year. The Abc marksmen have been prepared, having completed a pedestrian license with the police. "The older children know," says Kita director Zeise.
Annette Koch from the Verkehrswacht points out: "Motorists need to know that children at a young age cannot properly access speeds and distances. They lack spatial thinking. You can only walk across the street when a vehicle is parked. "So slow down and let it pass. And who now sees yellow: Attention, it could be the small forest walkers from Bucha.
