There is less and less time until Christmas. Christmas decorations in the form of colorfully dressed Christmas trees have already appeared in many homes and yards. Police officers from KPP in Ostrów Mazowiecka also decided to put up a Christmas tree in front of the entrance to the police station.
Spruce is decorated unusually. In addition to the evening lights, the tree was dressed in reflective material elements in the form of hangers and bands. In this way, the officers remind the inhabitants of the Ostrów to take care of their safety on the road throughout the year, and not only during Christmas. Residents of Ostrów County, who do not have reflectors, can take them from the Christmas tree standing in front of the entrance to the station.
Remember that the autumn and winter period is particularly dangerous for pedestrians wearing dark clothes walking along the roadside. Early dusk and an unlit road without a sidewalk are elements that can be especially dangerous for a pedestrian without reflectors.
In the interest of getting home safely, they regularly call for the use of reflective elements, while we must walk on the left side of an unlit road, outside the built-up area. A reflective band, a pendant, or a vest will enhance the visibility of a pedestrian on the road, then the driver will be noticed by the driver from a distance of about 150 meters, and then the driver will have a chance to react quickly and safely bypass the pedestrian.
