More than two thousand 787 motorcycles have been insured by state and municipal police as part of their strategy to reduce crime rates in the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara. According to information from police agencies in Jalisco, agents arrest motorcycle drivers whose displacement is less than 250 cubic centimeters and do not comply with the provisions of the traffic regulations.
The infractions are circular without a helmet, without a fluorescent reflective vest, or that said safety vest with reflective tape does not bear the alphanumeric code corresponding to the plates of the motorcycle. In the case of traffic infractions, if the arrested motorcyclist does not show the documents of his vehicle, the unit is collected by the authority. The insurance list is headed by the Police Station of the Road Police with two thousand 140 units, only from March 1 to April 10, through its operation. Zapopan follows, with 159 motorcycles insured; later, the General Police Station of the State Police, with 156 assurances, and then Guadalajara, with 148 motorcycles. The decision to tighten the nuts against motorcyclists using vehicles under 250 cubic centimeters seeks to inhibit crime in the Tapatia metropolis because the authorities responsible for public safety in the state consider that such vehicles are frequently used to commit crimes and to be able to escape with more facility.
For its part, the Road Police, from March 1 to April 10, has delivered 83 thousand 11 folios for various infractions, which range from circulating without vehicle documents, without a helmet, excess of passengers, among others. And is that after the Jalisco Congress approved the initiative to avoid the so-called Sandwich Children, the Road Police hardened its operations in the city. It is known as Sandwich Children to underage passengers traveling by motorcycle between two adults. It was last March when, with 27 votes in favor of MC, PAN, PRD, PVEM, six against Morena and four abstentions of the PRI and PT, the Plenary Session of the State Congress approved the reform of the Mobility Law by transporting babies, boys and girls on motorcycles, with fines ranging from 1,267 to two thousand 112 pesos, and in case of recidivism the motorcycle is removed. If the motorcycle was insured by the Traffic Police since some traffic infraction was surely committed, it can be collected in depot 7, formerly the Jalisco Institute of Social Assistance (IJAS), located on Avenida Javier Mina, digit 1342, of the Colonia Blanco and Cuéllar, in the municipality of Guadalajara. The document that guarantees the ownership of the vehicle, the last payment of endorsement, proof of address and voter's credential is required.
