That does not stop!

From 1 November to 31 March, motorists can equip their cars with winter tires. Although the law does not explicitly stipulate a "general obligation", it is never known what weather conditions the driver will encounter or how he suddenly changes. Therefore, winter tires can be recommended as temperatures fall below 7 °C. At the end of the autumn, many other hazards associated with fog, rain, darkness or the movement of the game on the road lie on motorists. It is also necessary to prepare it properly. Here are our helpful tips on how to prevent damage.

Winter lyres

The composition of the winter tire mix ensures the necessary adhesion to the road surface at low temperatures and their properties ensure self-cleaning. They greatly increase the braking efficiency, which can be reduced by 20-30% on unfavorable summer tires.

Certain sections of roads in the Czech Republic are prescribed by the winter gear for drivers. If the motorist does not stay in such places with winter equipment, he is exposed to a fine of up to CZK 2,500. However, abroad the fines are much higher, for example in Austria they go up to thousands of euros.

It is often speculated whether incorrect or poor quality tires can affect the amount of indemnity paid in compulsory liability or accident insurance:

The insurance company is entitled to reduce its compensation, but only if the causal relationship between the tires used and the occurrence of the damage and its height is demonstrable. If the tires did not play a role in the accident and the damage would occur even with the optimum tire of the vehicle, the insurance company will not reduce its insurance charge.

All you need to know about winter tires:

· Winter tires have a different tread pattern and grooving, which worsens and drives down the road in a worse condition. Important advantages are mainly on ice and snow. Winter tires have a sample of approximately 8 mm deep. With a sample of up to 4 mm, the braked track is about half longer on the snowy road.

· Winter tires can be easily identified by the mountain snowflake symbol on the side of the tire, M + S, MS, M / S or M.S. For extreme conditions at lower temperatures and on demanding surfaces, manufacturers recommend even better-branded winter tires marked beside the M + S label with triple mountain graphics.

· The winter tires are trailing on all four wheels. This ensures optimal functionality.

· It is also worth checking the tire pressure - the incorrect pressure reduces its performance and leads to faster wear.

· Always select the appropriate tire size. It is best to buy the tires according to the record in the technical card.

· Caution when buying tires! They should not be older than three years (date of production is on the side of the tire). When taking measurements, measure the tread depth to a minimum of 6 mm.

· Drivers must always choose the tire speed and load index identical to or higher than those prescribed in the Large Technical License.

· Do not forget the status of the spare wheel on the vehicles where it is available. The spare wheel allows you to ride on a tire service (even on a summer tire) under difficult conditions, while the glue kit means virtually always the need to pull the car, which complicates the situation.

Dark

In the dark, there is even a three times higher risk of killing in an accident that during the day. Of course, the greatest risk is for pedestrians - two-thirds of them die on the road in the dark. At present, the regulation stipulates that a pedestrian moving outside the village in a low-visibility area on the edge of the road must wear reflective clothing in order to make it more visible to the driver.

The area of such designation shall at least correspond to the dimensions of the reflective tape. It is best to place the tape on the moving parts of the body, such as the wrists of the hand and the ankles of the foot closer to the center of the road, as motorists will notice better. Attention! In the absence of reflective materials on pedestrian equipment outside the village under reduced visibility, the guilty person may count with a fine of up to CZK 2,000.
