Statistically, an accident involving pedestrians occurs almost every hour in Poland. If you count 24 hours a day. Almost every three hours there is an accident involving children aged 0-14. This means that there is no time for unnecessary delay and you need to take decisive action to radically improve this situation.
The Foundation for the National Day of Life with the support of the Ministry of Justice and the Justice Fund took action aimed at the youngest road users - children and adolescents.
The project Safe Road is initiated by the Foundation is a nationwide prevention campaign to reduce crime in road traffic. The campaign was built on five pillars, which are: knowledge, awareness, responsibility, readiness, and kindness.
Knowledge is just the beginning. During school activities, students will learn how to behave pedestrian in traffic and what security elements can protect it from tragic events.
The student's awareness, as the second element of the program, is built adequately to the child's age so that it can understand the negative consequences and consequences of non-observance of safety rules in road traffic. Building responsibility is the third element, resulting directly from the first two. A young person behaving accordingly on the road should take the same responsibility for himself and other road users - for example, being clearly visible to other road users.
On the other hand, being the fourth element of the program means that children participating in the Safe Road Project will receive special reflective vests with reflective tapes that will be ready to wear in every necessary situation. Finally, the last pillar - kindness, means understanding the simple but difficult to accept the principle that every participant of the road traffic wants to safely and safely move from point A to point B. That is why it is so important to have a good attitude towards others using the road.
The well-known actor Cezary Pazura was involved in the promotion of the project, who not only became the face of the campaign but also built a positive, humorous narrative around it. The main promotional campaign of the campaign is a clip with the participation of Pazura, where the slogan is "Good to see you". This short and accurate slogan express the essence of the project and gives its implementers a wide field for educational and educational work. The participation of a known actor strengthens the message and makes it more accessible to the recipient.
It is worth adding that the project is not only addressed to children and young people, but also to their parents, teachers, and educators. Only the integrated activities of various groups working with children on a daily basis give a chance for effective improvement of tragic statistics and reduction of hazards on the road. Therefore, the campaign has a universal dimension, adapted to the level of perception of children, adolescents, and adults.
The project started during the autumn and winter solstice, so it is the most demanding season for drivers when it comes to visibility. This is the best time for students to verify the received theoretical knowledge with the practical operation of reflective materials in specific weather conditions, especially after fast darkening.
