A driver died on the morning of this Tuesday to be run over after not wearing reflective vest in the street, in the commune of Rena.
The 33-year-old man stopped at the coaster of five Norte for an apparent damage to his vehicle and, in doing so without the aforementioned utensil, was not cited by the driver of a garbage truck from the Municipality of Santiago.
In that way, accidentally the vehicle of greater size fatally ran over the driver of the stopped car. In addition, although he tried to give him first aid, he could not recover it.
"The driver without safety vest was off the cell phone, he was impacted and projected to the second runway, and he died on the spot, the conditions in which he got off the vehicle is part of the investigation," said Lieutenant Andrés, of the Investigation Section of Traffic accidents.
Experts of the police in reflective uniform arrived at the place to carry out the necessary diligences to establish the causes of the accident. Meanwhile, it is estimated that the cafeteria of Rota 5 Norte, between Puerto Mont Avenue and 14 Fame, is closed until 08:00.
