Traffic police have issued recommendations to children and older pedestrians, cyclists, motorists, and passengers on how to navigate safely to start summer vacation.
Pedestrians from the police recommend "Every day":
1. Use the sidewalks.
2. Go through the underpasses and overpasses.
3. Walk towards the cars and to the left at the banquet if there is no sidewalk.
4. Switch to green.
5. Cross a pedestrian path and look in both directions.
6. Cross the street quickly.
7. Don't look at the phone or tablet when you cross.
8. Go with a group of people or an adult if you are uncertain.
The recommendations for cyclists are:
1. Look around and use your hands to show if you are going to go, turn, round, or stop.
2. Drive the wheel on the sidewalk if you are not 12 years old.
3. Drive the wheel to the right of the road in the direction of traffic if you are 12 years old.
4. Drive a wheel with service brakes, lights and bell on and equipped with reflectors.
5. Use a reflective vest. It is obligatory when it is dark when there is no good visibility and if you are outside the village or the city.
6. Keep your hands on the handlebars and your feet on the pedals of the wheel.
7. Drive the wheel in front of or behind your friend, not next to it.
8. Use the bike lane, if any.
The following recommendations are made to drivers:
1. Drive only if you are licensed (if you have a driving license).
2. Drive sober.
3. Carry your driving license and the documents of the vehicle you drive.
4. Operate a motor vehicle that is registered, has undergone an annual technical inspection, for which compulsory motor third-party liability insurance has been concluded and a vignette fee has been paid (for off-site driving).
5. Use a seat belt/safety helmet.
6. Invite passengers to wear seat belts/safety helmets.
7. Comply with the Road Traffic Act, do not exceed the speed limit and provide pedestrians with priority.
8. Consider your behavior with road and weather conditions.
Tips for travelers are:
1. Travel with an authorized driver (who has a driving license).
2. Travel with a sober driver.
3. Wear a seat belt/safety helmet.
4. Do not interfere with the driver, do not distract him with your behavior - do not speak loudly, do not play music loudly.
5. Sit in the back seat if you are not 12 years old.
6. Do not stick your head, arms or legs out the window/hatch.
7. Get on the right side of the sidewalk.
8. Protect the environment. Do not throw anything out the window.
