Compulsory equipment as well as first-aid kit will go through a change from October 1st. You will no longer need to carry bulbs or fuses in your car. First aid kits will be valid even after they expire and will disappear, for example, from a tri-banded scarf or drape. What other changes are waiting for us? On Friday, Breakfast with New responded Lena, spokesperson of the Ministry of Transport.

From October 1, 2018, there is a change in the mandatory equipment of vehicles and first aid kit. The main changes include leaving the first aid kit after the expiration date. "The main change is that drivers will no longer have to change the medicine box due to expiration, meaning that those who have their first aid kit in the car have it closed so they can leave it there without any problem, and there is no threat from October, "said Lena.

So far, we have to change the first aid kit after the expiration of the time. However, the Ministry of Transport decided, after consultation with the Ministry of Health, that it is no longer compulsory. "If all medical supplies are intact, they are all right and can be used without a problem in case of a car accident," Lena added.

For example, you do not need to carry a tri-band scarf or a plastic mask in your medicine cabinet. No other things have come to her. "There is no need for three things in the medicine box, it will be a three-piece scarf, a patch with a pillow, and there may not be a plastic cloth, there is nothing to add, because for that first-aid we need a sterile bandage, bandage, patch, gloves and also an isothermal blanket , "said Lena.

The change also applies to the mandatory equipment of the vehicle. There are only a reflective vest and a warning triangle. On the contrary, you do not need bulbs or fuses. "As far as mandatory equipment is concerned, it remains the rule that there remains a reflective vest and a warning triangle, and we must always have these things, but what changes and is quite crucial is that people will no longer have to carry their fuses and also spare bulbs, "said Lena.

It is not necessary for the driver to carry a replacement tire. "As far as reserve spare tire is concerned when a defect occurs and drivers who have a wagon equipped with an emergency tire, they will not have to carry this spare tire, they will not have to carry a nut key. Drivers who will have an agreed assistance service throughout the Czech Republic who will replace them in the event of a defect in the tire, " Lena added.

The ministry tries to make life easier for drivers so they do not have to carry things that are not needed. "We are trying to make life easier for drivers so they do not have to carry things in their cars that are not needed at the moment, and those fuses and light bulbs are also mainly due to the fact that the cars are at a different technical level than was a few years ago, and many drivers have already exchanged both fuses and light bulbs for service experts, " Lena explained.

It is advisable to have a reflective vest with reflective tape in our car so that in the event of an accident we cannot get on the highway without it. Ideally, everyone in the car would have it in their car. "As far as the reflective vest is concerned, we should all have a hi vis vest, certainly for safety reasons it's good to have it in your car, somewhere on the driver's side on the left, with the passenger on the right, they really did not have to find anywhere difficult in the car, do not give God somewhere in the trunk when we have to climb on the highway but really to have it at hand, and when we have a vest for every member we take, it is definitely good, " Lena added.
