Each of us is required to have reflective material elements outside of built-up areas, but it's also worth thinking about in the city. There are also places with limited visibility here.
"In Zgorzelec, there are places where pedestrians are often simply not seen. A great example is Armii Krajowej or Poniatowskiego street. There are a lot of pedestrian crossings but also a lot of trees. Despite the lighting, the trees absorb the light of the lanterns and sometimes it is difficult to see the pedestrian, especially if the car is driving from the opposite direction. I believe that reflective elements should also be worn in the city," says Michał Kurowicz, a driver from Zgorzelec.
"I wear a reflective armband all year round. It's such a small thing that doesn't bother and can improve my security. It costs 2 zlotys in the store. I think it is worth having something like that with you," says Jolanta Makowska, a resident of Zgorzelec.
Policemen call on pedestrians to exercise caution. Pedestrians as vulnerable road users to speeding vehicles are vulnerable. An accident involving them has extremely serious consequences. Reflectors should be worn, especially after dusk, when visibility is worse, and the dark colors of the clothes mean that the pedestrian is noticed by the driver only at the last moment. A pedestrian equipped with a reflective vest element for the driver is visible from a much greater distance, which allows for an earlier reaction. It is worth, even in the city, to wear reflective elements.
