Pupils and educators from primary and nursery school Zákupy originally grasped traffic education.
"Safety Playfully" was called the transport competition, which took place in the week from 11 to 15 November 2019 at the elementary and nursery school in Zákupy, Česká Lípa. Martin Markl, head of the traffic inspectorate of the police in Česká Lípa, together with the mayor of the town, Radek Lípa, came up with the idea of organizing a competition in this school. And, of course, the support of the director of the Čestmír Kopřiva school itself, as well as the teaching staff, should not be missing.
The competition was organized for 1st - 6th-grade pupils and a kindergarten was also involved. Teachers and pupils, however, grasped the competition in a completely original way. The pupil's parliament, consisting of 20 children, participated in the organization of the competition under the guidance of teachers, and at the same time, the parliament representatives prepared all the stations and tasks that the children were supposed to perform. The competition was attended by a total of 10 teams with a total of 60 children.
The children completed a total of 13 stations:
1. AZ Quiz
2. Puzzle - road signs
3. First aid
4. Crossroads
5. Kim's game - traffic signs
6. Memory game - traffic signs
7. Know the differences - observation
8. Bicycle equipment
9. Traffic rules - test
10. Driving skills
11. Important phone numbers
12. Logical tasks - transport
13. Crossroads - reflective elements
The kindergarten, which is part of the school, with 21 children, had a completely different task. Children painted pictures on the subject of traffic education and some of them created themes for reflective elements. The pictures were then handed to the police.
In December, a ceremonial evaluation of the results and announcement of the winners of the traffic competition took place in the school gym in the presence of the mayor, school director, traffic police, regional prevention coordinator of the Liberec Regional Police Directorate and representatives of the Road Safety Team.
Children received from the hands of the head of the traffic inspectorate of the police in Česká Lípa Martin Markl and Markéta Novotná from the Road Safety Team, who is a traffic education methodologist and author of the project "Markéta traffic education". Children have thus won the prizes that will further ensure their safety in road traffic - various reflective elements, including reflective vests, cycling kits, belts, as well as illuminated wheel valves.
However, the police also thought of those who did not win. They did not leave empty. They sent small gifts in the form of reflective bands or key chains as well as sweets.
