The Municipality of Salta, like any institution formed and operated by human beings, sometimes succeeds and others are mistaken. It is normal for this to happen. Although the municipal mistakes are like the successes of very varied type, those that have to do with the use of words are usually perceived, both by those who commit them and by those who suffer them, such as peseta minutia. Do you know the importance difference between a refractory vest and a reflective safety vest? In addition, this is a bad thing to happen.
What is usually not noticed is that behind a grammatical or linguistic error lays a wrong action, a bad act of government. In addition, what is worse: a person who lacks the appropriate knowledge hides; someone who calls things by a name that does not correspond and that uses for actions that performs the wrong verbs? That is, a person who should not be in government.
The example of today is the "refractory" vests that the Municipality intends to deliver to the permit holders of the measured parking lot. That is to say, the body scratches those singing children of Vienna who generally charge you a tax for the bad and that at the first gesture of disgust you, your mirrors are broken or your wheels are deflated.
But as there are also unscrupulous drivers, evaders, stingy and aggressive, who take advantage of any discrepancy to run over them, the Municipality has taken the decision to provide them with high visibility vests; that is, capable of returning light in multiple directions and making the human figure of the collector more visible. What it is, in short, is to "make visible" the vulnerable minorities; something that is very fashionable now.
What the Municipality will not distribute will be "refractory" vests, that is, vests that are capable of resisting the action of fire without being altered (such is the definition of the Dictionary). It is not convenient to confuse, then, between reflective vest and refractory vest. At least it does not suit the Municipality, since the word "refractory" -in addition to the meaning already indicated- means "that refuses to fulfill a promise or obligation" and also "opposed, rebellious to accept an idea, opinion or custom." Therefore, from today, the vests will be "reflective" like the mirrored balls of the clubs, and not "refractory,” like the bricks of the grill.
