Every year on the South Moravian roads, hundreds of pedestrians will collide. Only this year, until the end of October, the police have registered over three hundred such cases. Fourteen people died in accidents.
An increase in accidents involving pedestrians in the winter has reduced visibility due to early dimming and gloom in the morning. "The combination of darkness and darkness with fog or rain makes the conditions even worse," said Wizen, adding that pedestrians often make bad impressions on poor visibility.
For example, the man who passed the main movement of Brno was paid this year. The passing driver, in dark clothing without reflective materials, did not register in time and knocked him off. The knocked man escaped only with slight wounds.
A good choice of safety clothing can save lives for pedestrians on illuminated roads. The man in blue clothing recognizes the driver only when he is about eighteen meters away. A much better visibility is for white or yellow cloth, which reaches over fifty meters.
The most effective means of improving visibility is reflective vests or tapes. "The highest quality reflective elements increase the visibility to two hundred meters. Drivers have a longer reaction time and therefore avoided a crash, "police spokesman Pave Val said. The highest efficacy of the reflective parts of the cloth is on the moving parts of the body, i.e. the legs and hands.
