Holidays are slowly ending. In just a few days, the first bells will ring in schools, which will invite students to the lessons about road safety. September is a great opportunity to remind children about the rules of road traffic. Therefore, the police will carry out a number of preventive actions for children, young people, but also parents and teachers.
The first action will be "Safe Way to School", which the policemen will run from September 4 to 8. During which they will take special care of the children's safety near schools, helping children to cross the road at the crossing for Pedestrians and teaching correct behavior on the road. When the children are in class, policemen in safety vest will control the speed of drivers in the school area.
In these days, they will be particularly in control of buses and cars transporting children to schools as well as their managers. They will also pay attention to whether children imported by the car have their seatbelts fastened - informs Iowan, press spokesman at the Police Department.
In September and October, police officers will conduct meetings at schools, during which they will discuss road safety issues. The participants of these lectures will be not only students, but also parents and teachers.
Applications for such talks, especially addressed to first grade students are accepted until September 15, 2017. The title of the application should indicate that it concerns a road safety talk - adds the Policewoman. The officers will also encourage participation in the next edition of the "Reflective school" competition, in which institutions promoting safety among students will be selected, especially by equipping them with vests and reflective elements.
