British Transport Research Laboratory carried out a number of tests to find out how motorcyclists and cyclists in safety vest can improve their visibility on the road.
The authors reviewed 12 previous studies carried out in 1969. The data shows that fluorescent colored jackets completed riders more visible. However, the documents note that such riders outfit distinguishes the background environment is relatively uniform, and when the landscape is changing, fluorescent clothing does not necessarily determine a good presence of such persons.
In 2011, a study revealed that motorists soon beheld moving motorbikes or bicycles if their clothing colors bright colors different from the environment. In 2012, an analysis showed that depending on road and traffic intensity, the most visible cyclists and motorcyclists clothing can be brightly colored jackets and white or even black clothes.
"The results are interesting in that they insist that the brightly colored reflective clothing is not always the best measure, which makes riders or cyclists more visible on the road," - says the Transport Research Laboratory report.
This means that the person will not necessarily be seen if you wear fluorescent clothing.
