This is the part of the year that is perfect for nature trips with family or friends. If you are a recreational cyclist and are just about to pull out your two-wheeled "tattoos" from the cellar or garage, make sure you know what your responsibilities are on the road. This will avoid not only injuries but also unnecessary fines.

Before you can go on the road, you must first have a bike with the necessary equipment. Your bicycle must have 2 separate and independent effective brakes and mandatory retro-reflectors - rear red, at least one side orange on each side of the wheel, orange on each pedal and white front retro-reflector. If you do not have glasses, you can also replace them with reflective materials on clothing. Each bicycle shall be fitted with a white light at the front and a red light at the rear when driving in poor visibility. The lights shall be visible at a distance of at least 150 m.

The helmet and reflective elements shall be

Children under 15 years of age must wear a safety helmet whenever they are taken out on a bicycle. It is worth investing in a high-quality helmet with a firm fastening. If you are over 18 years of age, the helmet is mandatory for you when driving outside the village. If you go on a low-visibility trip, it is your responsibility to wear reflective clothing, whether cycling safety vest or reflective straps on your arm and leg, so that the drivers can see you well. If you want to go on a trip with the smallest cyclists, keep in mind that you cannot use the bicycle with side-wheels for road traffic. Also, keep in mind that children under the age of 10 can only ride on the road when accompanied by an elderly person older than 15 years. You should also know that it is forbidden to bring a dog with you while driving.

To make your trip to the countryside more enjoyable

Before you embark on a bike trip, it is worth noting, in addition to the mandatory equipment, to think of useful things that you should pack in your backpack. First of all, a basic defect repair kit needs to be fitted as a precautionary measure. When it comes to clothing, take a lightweight, waterproof jacket for longer hikes and in variable weather, better than a raincoat that would only sweat a bike more. For children, do not forget the protectors on the hands and feet. Regular drinking regime during cycling is a matter of course, especially during the heat. It is important to pack your food to provide you with optimal food and energy. You should also keep in mind the economics of packaging.

For cycling, modern alternatives to snacks and sweets are ideal. functional foods with optimal protein content and balanced nutritional values. Among the commonly available products in foodstuffs are products of the Slovak brand Max Sport. For example, you can choose from classic protein bars with a 25% mix of animal and vegetable proteins and a high proportion of prebiotic fiber to keep you rich for longer. During the trip to nature, the original gluten-free protein biscuits taste good as ordinary biscuits but are healthier due to minerals and low sugar content. If you do not need sweet, in this case, we recommend packing in a backpack. Veggie Protein Salty Bars based on legumes, seeds, vegetables, and olive oil, which contain up to 20% vegetable protein and fiber for fast saturation. The reward for the youngest travelers can be the tasty Fit Kid bar, which contains the lowest proportion of sugar in its category and is sweetened with Stevia extract.
